Clutch System Options
We have decided to make an "open" carrier for the clutch system to help everyone be able to choose a clutch system for their driving style.
We will offer a "system" with the open carrier, it will be Named "Race Edition" clutch System.
The Race Edition will come complete with Open Carrier, Bell, gear plate and Pinion. This has the Large Bell Bearings, Huge M6 pinion screw, all the benefits of the original HD Clutch System, just with an open carrier. If you do not drive in any sand and like to be able to quickly access your clutch, this would be your choice. Since the motor mount is not incorporated into the carrier, it allows quick access, "easy on & Off".
Now, for those of you that already have our original Clutch System, we will offer the carrier separately so you can use your clutch system either way. If you are going to drive in the sand, throw your closed carrier on, going racing or bashing, throw on the open carrier.
The open carrier and Race Edition System will be available in Raw, Orange and Gun Metal.
Please keep in mind, these carriers are ONLY compatible with TR CLutch system and will not work with "stock" parts.

That will be a nice addition to the TR line. So if I buy another complete system I will be able to specify which carrier I want?

This is great, so i understand that it will carry the same size of bearing like the closed system, awesome ... Any time line for the release?

Awesome Dave. Since I just got my HD system yesterday, I was really glad to see that I can just buy the open carrier. Of course I now need the complete system for my other Baja but that's beside the point.
Oh...thanks for including a HUGE TR sticker with the HD kit as well as a small one

Vary nice Dave. this will be a must for those racers that want to have a reliable clutch system bit not the weight.

Very cool Dave. I was going to order the enclosed TR clutch for tomorrows DDM DOTD, but may hold off for this design instead.

The weight diff is only 1oz. Weight is not really an issue, the enclosed carrier is very light because it gets it's structural rigidity from being enclosed, so the "walls" can be much thinner. The open carrier needs thicker supports because it's not enclosed and is not supported all the way around. Now the three legs have to do all the work.
Bottom line, weight should not play a role in deciding which carrier you go with.

Very cool stuff, Dave! That'll help out the racers for sure. Having that open design should help get a little bit more heat off the bell.
