An electrical background? Well, i do a crap load with electronics, I used to do alot more but the Baja took up half that spare time
I do a fair bit with PCB (printed circuit board) making, microcontroller programming... its just another hobby
I'm currently designing a system from scratch that communicates the data from various sensors (gps, altimeter etc.) between 2 vehicles, one is a car and the other is a hot air balloon, its for heavy competition and with it will go a full blown program suite for windows.
As far a background though, being 17 I don't really have a "background" yet
I just installed this one for some testing, you should be seeing these around in 2 or 3 weeks.
Some more info? Basically its just an RC switch but unlike all other RC switches, it will go CC (closed contact) when the radio signal dies, this is needed to shut off the motor when out of range.

I just did a bit of testing, worked great, cut the engine as soon as i clicked the button on the TX.
Only problem was with the one im using its hard to tell if its cutting the motor or not when starting, but thats only a problem with mine as its encased in black, the production ones will be clear so you can see the indicator light.

On my Sensor radio I would just use ch 3 in toggle mode so I will already know if it is on or off.

Yep I am doing the same on me React.
Low signal, not low batt, for a couple of reasons, mainly because all batteries are different + the RX detects low bat itself and that I don't think its a good feature to have really, if your battery is on the verge, every time you use the steering servo is will drop voltage and cut the motor!! I don't like the idea of that.
So its an on off switch with the added feature of emergency cutoff.

Did a fair bit of testing with this and DAMN!!! This is one of those things that once you have it, you won't know how you survived without it!!!
It's really cool when bashing because you can just roll the baja up to you and cut it, no need to mess with switches
Sorry to tease, im still working with Mark at TGN on these, will let you know when we have a date!
