Last Prototype Pro2 Truck
Hey Everyone, thanks for your feedback regarding my initial prototypes that I posted months ago. I've been doing a lot of R&D and also working with local Baja5 owners to see what works best for this Pro2 design. I've changed the chassis from the original to make the front end much stronger and moved the body down to the original location (like the original blue prototype truck-see pix on my album). I also changed the ABS body for better rear tire clearance and I decided to go with a heavier/sturdier ABS plastic based on feedback of the first 4 trucks that I sold. The new body is now fastened to the chassis using 6/32 C clip nuts and 6/32 spot weld tabs that are welded to the chassis so that the body can be removed much faster/easier for working on. I also eliminated the aluminum bottom plate and moved the bottom tube of the chassis inward. The middle tube of the chassis has been moved along the inside of the door to better support the body and will work as a nerf bar inside of the body to protect for side impact. It does 2 things at once, saves time producing, reduces the weight and makes the end product more durable for side impact. I can't discuss a price or availability because I do not pay for adverstisement on this site currently. Right now, I'm trying to get these on a local club/track in Western WA called Area52- a 1/5 scale large groomed track. Any W. WA people interested in joining me at the races?...would be great to see these trucks out on the track. If you're intersted in racing in W.WA email me back.
Check out my album for photos of the new chassis design. The truck in the attached photos is my 4th prototype and the above mentioned changes I've made to the new chassis (black chassis with white background in photos)which is in my album on the forum.

Wow, that's a roll cage. It sure looks beefier than the previous sets of pictures shown in your previous posts. You sure got some skills. Have you considered adapting your roll cage to the 5T or the soon-to-be-released Proline truck body? I've held out on buying a 5T for myself just waiting/hoping for your conversion to become commercially available.
