cheap grass screen

I have had trouble with grass getting packed around the flywheel fins and around the coil. (I'm sure I'm not the only one!) I made this out of some aluminum screen. I seems to be working great. I bought the screen from Ace Hardware and it's called Gutter Guard made by Amerimax. It's used to keep leaves and other junk out of your rain gutter. One roll is 6" X 20ft. and costs $4.99!

It's held in place with one bolt and a long cable tie.

Good idea, whenever I pull the engine I will do something like this. But for now, removing the body panels solved the problem for me............

On my ToDo list!

Thank you. It took longer to remove the motor than to cut and fit the screen. I can't believe the difference it made though. I recomend this to anyone that runs in grass or even areas with rocks.
