Is that just a problem with the stock receiver? I heard it's a common problem with failsafe on the brake, that doesn't mean long term regular brake usage will cause a problem does it?

from my understanding, this was reported last June 06, that a long, over 20 seconds hold from failsafe, may, repeat MAY burn out the throat/steering servo.
mine did, others didnt. i would imagine if you locked the brakes up and had the held for over 20 seconds, you may burn a servo out. i can see the possibility.

Easy to way to save some money...
TAPE YOUR REAR TIRES before running them. Pop them off the beadlocks, flip the tires inside out and using good quality Duct Tape put a wrap around them. Reinstall. I have a few gallons run through my Baja on hard pack gravel/dirt surfaces and the wheels still look like new. No ballooning while jumping either. These tires are known to tear/explode and this makes a big difference.

I'd recommend to get shock repair kits.. (just in case) I don't know where and how you're driving, but most of people have managed to bend their shock shafts. With the baja comes extra spur gear. Don't leave that at home.
To my experiences, one should always have all spares that one have, with them. For example my friend Karg... Our intention was to bash in a sandpit. I got my baja running nicely. Karg got his baja fueled up and first pull on the starter.. The cord broke.. What we did was to remove starter from my baja while it was running and install it to his baja..
My point is that Karg had 2 extra pullstarters in his carage. Only problem was that the carage was 40km away..
Lession learned. Always keep all your spares with you when driving, no matter how unlikely they are to get broken.

I would check it just to be sure, I pulled mine and checked it when I got my baja. Heard some rumors around the forum about new bajas not having enough fluid, mine was okay.

had mine out in about 10 min max, if you have trouble the manual can walk you through it. scale of 1-10 on difficulty is about a 3.

Check your spark plug's gap. Should be between .020 and .030.

Hey guys, I just ordered my Baja 10 minutes ago from Tower. I did a search for "oil" but perhaps that was too broad. Anywho, I was wondering what 2 stroke oil you guys recommend. I saw the thread about what mixture to use on break in 25:1 was it? But I was wondering what brand you guys suggest.
Thanks, Greg
