This is what you need, since its too tight to do the c-clip alternation. Ive been using this clip and it holds up. Never lost one yet.
Even so i did the c clip mod, using the plastic arm gives me room.
But surely this clip is the second best thing.

In a word: GENIUS!! I've never would have thought of that one, but what to do w/rubbing even WITHOUT a shim on front? Grinding? I'd hate to hack a shiny new part before going thru all the options first What size is used instead of c-clip? Is spec in manual? Thx

I have the front GH A arm and the c clip mod.
1. What I did was cut the part off where the c clip goes on, making sure the end of the axle was flush.
2. Drilled and tapped the front axle hole same as the bolt.
3. Bought a washer that covered the inner bearing race lip with a hole that fits an M4 button top bolt. (fender washer from home depot or lowes)
4. Grinded down the button top til it was about little more than half the thickness was left.
5. Then put it together mounted on the A arm to make sure everything cleared. If it was all good, I put a little locktite and mored on to the other side!

Pretty +1....though in my instance did not tap - just put a suitable bolt all the way thru (after grinding off the c clip retainer) and a nut at the other end (outer side of hub)
You will obvioulsy need to check clearance through the whole range of the suspension movement, up down and at the same time, with steering full lock both ways.
I run plastic front arms and so did some grinding on both the bolt head and end of a-arms to ensure full clearance.

Heres what I have done and its probably a little more work than the others.
1/ I machined of the c clip area so the axel was flush with the end of the bearing.
2/ Drilled and tapped the center hole 5mm.
3/ Machined an alloy washer 17mm OD x 5mm ID and 2mm thick.
4/ I then countersunk the hole in the washer to suit a 5mm x 12mm countersunk bolt.
5/ When fitted the whole assembly only sticks out 2mm past the end of the axel leaving plenty of room.
I can post pics later when I get home if anyone wants to see.
Cheers

Excellent job, do you want to make me a set?
I've done the same thing but with just a washer and phillips head screw, but that is definitely neater and better.
Scooby, those parts look great, that Bonefied plate is BEEFY!!

I have done this mod for 2 other people so far.
They posted their front hubs to me, I did the mods and mailed back for $28.
That includes machining, custom alloy washer, csk bolt and return Aust post.
They give good clearance on the plastic arms but I don't have any alloy arms to try, so I am not sure of the clearance.
The whole mod only protrudes 2.3mm from the bearing face
PM me if you are interested

There was a post a couple of weeks back where someone used the rear axle up front. All they did was cut off the part where the dogbone sits and the axle gets installed from the inside with no clip or bolts.

I have the same rubbing in mine.
GH is investigate the case. I told about it in my review.
Here is the pic
They don't rub anymore... I think. What scare me is that the part C clip area rub too much and then the C Clip can't hold there anymore.
In this case, i'll need to buy some new hub.... My hope is that GH will find why fast enough.
Now that I know that this is the case for the other one too, maybe the search will go further.

i wonder if the distance between the hub and the mounting hole needs to be extended 2 or 3 mm to create that small pocket of room needed.
i think the ball ends of the arms are a tad bit longer than the stock arms, thus sticks into the hub a bit more. extending the distance between the inside of the hub will be a work around.

+1 on that, that's what I'm worried about also, the clip not strong enough to hold hub in place from wearing down on the arm socket, anyhow I've found a solution for clip replacement (a nod & thank-you goes to GDSwede )
