People that went from LiPo/LiFe back to NiMh, can you please explain why?
This one seems odd to me.

LiFe prices seem to be staying higher, compared to LiPo

I'll have some LiFe transmitter packs in a few weeks. For the receiver I prefer LiPo.

This is all I have tried. I have a 4200 milliamp bat with a hi-tech HS-5805 steering servo and a hi-tech HS-7955TG coreless digital throttle /brake servo. I think they work great.

A 2002 Chevy Malibu is a great car...... until you get in a 2012 Corvette Z06. Which is why I asked what else you have tried

Do whatever floats your boat. But I just think it's cool to try new stuff sometimes.

Quick thread hijack:

I was in the plant today that hydroforms steel and aluminum tubing into Corvette frame rails. Depending on which model of Corvette you get either a steel or aluminum frame.

They start off with straight sections and bend it into the rough shape of the rail. Then the bent piece goes to hydroforming. Basically they pressurize the living crap out of the tubing from the inside, which forces it to take the shape of the die.

I have ran all three. To me the NiMH seems to fit better in the baja box. I have a 7.4 that I ran on the shorty I had for a while and now use in my Rampage.

Same here, not interested in the lipo with the dangers. I still read on RC boards almost daily about lipo's burning up and sometimes it burns up the RC with it, just not worth it to me.
Never tried life batteries, not sure what they offer over lipo....

Also, will the long lipo and life packs fit in the Baja battery box like the 5 cell hump packs do?

Then ya better not use a cell phone or laptop. They have lipos.
Just like anything, if ya abuse it there can be consequences. If you are sort of a careless person you better stick with NiMh.
LiPos are not like a ticking time bomb. If you have a LiPo that has been sitting on your shelf for a day its not just going to catch on fire by itself tomorrow. If you have an issue it will be during charging or if you short circuit the wires. A LiPo in storage is no danger.

i've always used the 6v nimh 5000ma ddm battery and ran the baja through over a half gallon of gas all day and it lasted for me fine. whats the advantage of switching to anything else. Do you get better response out of the servos? do you gain any horspower lol I dont get it. still a little new to bajas. just wondering what the lipos give ya. any info would be sweet

NiMh vs LiPo = big weight savings 100+ grams. Less weight = faster car.
Higher voltage and less voltage drop = stronger faster servos. Longer run time. Hold their charge in storage for many months. Twice the lifespan.
