5sc 4x4

I tested my 4x4 5sc for the first time over the weekend! I had the truck 90% complete when it was at RCX. It ran flawlessly and we really put the drivetrain through the test. I am VERY satisfied. I still need to take the toe out of the rear end and stiffen up the suspension. The stock front Rodeo tires ballooned immediately when they were off the ground - I need to wrap the foams with duct tape. The truck has awesome traction and I could control it in the air - a little throttle in the air easily pulled the front end up. I did not lose any turning radius with he 4x4 system. In the vid I was running a slightly higher gear ratio in the front to give it a little more pull. The car now has 4 wheel braking as well and will stop on a dime!!

Here are some quick vids - sorry about the camera man. More to come tomorrow

I built my first 4x4 system 3 years ago and it ran pretty good! It was not very refined though - Basically just a rear end bolted to the front! The new system is bullet proof and is the same sytem I have on my new 4x4 shorty, The 5sc required a lot more work to get all of the stock plastics bolted up! I'll try to get some more up close pics.

Here is a vid of my first generation 4x4 3 years ago.
