Getting an O'Neill Brothers Racing 27.2 Full Mod
Just ordered a new OBR 27.2 Full Mod 4 bolt Zen for my 5B to replace the 27.2 Race ported 2 bolt CY which I have installed in my 5T. I'm pretty stoked to get it in and wanted to know what some of the other experiences are out there. What's the big difference between a full mod and race ported?
Just ordered it the other day so I'm expecting it any day now. I'll
post up once I have it in hand.
Thanks O'Neill Brothers racing, looking forward to feeding it some go
juice.
Balls......Out

I just go right for the Full Mod. So I can't tell you the difference. But congrats!

This is the fastest motor I've owned to date and is still running very strong after over 15 tanks. Also, when I bought the motor I also picked up a Victory Pro side mounted and unsilenced pipe. The motor feeds off that thing and it revs to the moon.
When I was motor shopping, I was looking at the web page descriptions between the race port and the full mod and saw the differences there. It's the little things sometimes
You're gonna love that motor, though. It's a ripper!

Some assembly required?
Well, this is my first Full Mod. I'm so stoked! Didn't know there was some assembly required though. Does anyone have a manual for these things or should it be in the SS manual?
Here's a couple shots of it before I start putting it together. I do have to say, the O'bros did a great job packaging it all up and making sure no dust or dirt get into the intake or exhaust ports:
It's a little dirty but I'm sure that's from them testing and tuning it before they sent it to me...
Is that an extra bearing in there just for me?
And here's a few of all the extra screws, washers and bolts. Sure was nice of them to throw that all in just to keep me up and running:
Well, I'm done for the night. Gotta get my girls to bed and I'm following close behind...
What carb do you guys think would get this beast screaming?

Difference is more compression for the Full mod, lightened piston even further and reshaped intake and exhaust. Overall, one of the best engines I have ever had.

No sir, "I'M" not playing with you guys.. I repeat, "I'm" not...
I can tell you this for sure.. It for sure isn't the CY 2 bolt from my bajas.. I took the older Cy 2-bolt and have that in my 5T. It's installed and running so I know it's not that one...
These are fore sure pictures of the engine I got from OBR...

I've been looking at my other OBR motors and I think this is the best one yet...
Gotta get back to work on it.

WHEN WILL THOSE be back in stock? Is that a good engine for the general basher? I'm no professional but that definitely looks purpose built..

Yeah, for sure it was purpose built. Just for me. . Wouldn't recommend it for a newb as it's not a direct drop in and go.. But, it does come withh spares to help build up parts box.
Not a thread to talk crap about other engine builders but, I have ran only one other builders engine and the head cracked first 5 min of running it.. For the record, builder isn't on HBF
Even though it looks like she needs some work, still sticken with OBR.. I know I can get her fired up, I know it!

That's pretty cool of the OBR guys.... I have a full mod 27.2 myself! Those baby's make some serious compression so it's good to have the extra bolts etc.! Is that their titanium bolt set to save weight? Enjoy it bro!

I have 2 OBR Full mod 27.2's. I love them. The full mod 27.2 has pushed my Baja to 72.5mph in street speed testing. Very Please.

This is just alittle OBR humor.
So no one thinks this is real! Once you get to know the boys. The are funny as S T. I think Ballsout is just having alittle fun.
Kids, don't try this at home!

You guys made my morning, haven't laughed this hard in a long time.
Derrell is one of our good friends and we figured we would have a little fun. We rebuilt his 27.2cc 4 bolt engine and just happened to have that beat up 2 bolt long block laying around. After a quick talk with Dan next thing you know the pistons went to TDC and the magic started happening
Don't worry bud, your real engine shipped a day after.
$10 shipping + $0.50 in extra hardware.... PRICELESS
