I don't have time to go into detail on the tranny but here is a video of the finished gearbox and the shifting. The gearbox is symmetrical with a shift lever on both sides.

Basically the shifter is on an acme lead screw the is attached to a gear with pressure plates on both sides. The shifter engages the pressure plates and gear to either a forward powered gear or a reverse powered gear.

Here are some gearbox pics. What a ridiculous assembly. It is almost impossible to put together.

All the parts

This is the reverse gear with the shifting gears

Differential assembly the generate forward and reverse

Gearbox halves almost assembled

Getting everything crammed into the box

Shifter actuator assembly

Shifter lever and input spur gear

And the finally assembly mock-up. From this setup I can make all the suspension linkages. I started in on this tonight and will finish suspension and servo/radio plates tomorrow.

Finished tracks

The chassis with motor and tranny. I am setting up the suspension to have almost 4" of ground clearance. Check out me high-tech height gage blocks.

The body mounted to the chassis

Mock up of the tracks

Tracks and Body

LOL, I have no idea what you are talking about. I kinda just pulled the idea from my arse. All the parts are custom made from scratch. The acme screws are off the shelf and machine for functionality. The gears are standard blanks from a catalog that I machined to my needs.

I suppose I could have done more research in the design but I like to shoot from the hip, crunch my own numbers and design.

Glad you like it.

I just googled it and found an exploded diagram. Similar, there are lot's of thrust bearings to try to help with the clutch pressure thrust forces.
